Our modern cabins, built of environmentally friendly, cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels that absorb carbon, are located at the heart of Lake Saimaa in the village of Oravi, standing on a narrow headland between the Linnansaari and Kolovesi National Parks. The area, imbued with history, enchants not only with its location but with its coziness, too.
Each of our holiday cottages offers a stunning view of Lake Saimaa. These bright and spacious modern cottages are the perfect choice for travelers seeking both quality accommodation and a connection with nature. A shared swimming area and dock are also available on-site.
Designed with high-quality materials, the cottages feature floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the picturesque Lake Saimaa landscape. You can choose from three view categories for your stay:
- Lake Cottages: Overlooking Lake Haukivesi and Linnansaari National Park
- View Cottages: Offering breathtaking, panoramic views from the tip of the isthmus
- Canal Cottages: Facing the peaceful Oravi Canal

- Please notify us of the need for an extra bed or a travel cot when making the reservation. An extra bed will be made up on the sofa bed in the living area; we will prepare it for you upon request. We charge 30 € per person for the extra bed linen and towels.

Enhance your stay with breakfast
You can add a breakfast package to your reservation. Breakfast is delivered to your cottage the evening before in a cooler bag. It must be ordered at least three days in advance. The breakfast includes a variety of tasty items, and any leftovers can easily be taken along as a snack for a day of exploring the forest trails!
Oravi village
The idyllic Oravi village and the services offered by the small community, ranging from a village shop and a restaurant to various leisure and outdoor activities, are located on the other side of the headland, just a short walk away from the resort area.

Lake
Cabins 1-3
The Lake cabins, located on the southern shore of the Kanava Resort site, offer a stunning view towards Lake Saimaa and the scattered islands and islets of the Linnansaari National Park. For an extra touch of peace and privacy during your stay, we recommend booking our most secluded cabins, 1 or 2.
View
Cabins 5-7
Our View cabins, located at the tip of Puistoniemi overlooking the intersection of Lake Saimaa and the Oravi canal, are popular for good reason. The floor-to-ceiling windows of these cabins provide expansive lake views that leave guests speechless time and time again. Even a Saimaa ringed seal has been spotted from the cabins in spring!
Canal
Cabins 8-10
Cabins 8-10 are our pet-friendly accommodations. Situated on the northern side of our little isthmus, the Canal cabins offer views towards the historic Oravi open canal. The canal scenery can only be admired from the cabins, making them an excellent choice for nature lovers.
Discover Kanava Resort, Oravi Village, and the charming Lake Saimaa area
There is one shared parking area for vehicles on the resort’s grounds, as well as up to four charging stations for electric cars (surcharge). You can drive your vehicle to the door of your rented cabin for unloading luggage, but please move it to the parking area afterwards so that the emergency routes remain clear. Airport transfers from Savonlinna Airport to Kanava Resort and back are available by prior arrangement.
Paths from the cabins lead to Kanava Resort’s private and shallow, sandy beach, which also has a shared dock.
On the beachfront, between cottages 3 and 5, you’ll also find Kanava Resort’s own campfire spot. Firewood for the open fire at the campfire spot can be found in each cottage as well as from the woodshed located near the tip of the Kanava Resort area.
There are a total of nine cabins on Kanava Resort’s grounds. The plot also includes an old vaulted cellar, and a glass pavilion, suitable for organizing small events and meetings on-site.
