Winter on Lake Saimaa
Winter brings a special atmosphere to Lake Saimaa, with deep darkness and peaceful silence. Away from the city lights, you can see the stars more clearly, while the winter landscapes invite you to slow down and unwind.
Kanava Resort is located between Linnansaari and Kolovesi National Parks, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the winter outdoors in Oravi. When ice and snow conditions allow, you can travel across the frozen lake from Oravi all the way to Linnansaari National Park. The marked winter route stretches for over 20 kilometres and can be explored, for example, on skis or on foot.
The New Year on Lake Saimaa
There’s no need to rush home after Christmas. Stay at Kanava Resort for a few more days and spend New Year on Lake Saimaa. A few extra days give you more time to relax, enjoy the winter scenery and ease into the New Year at your own pace.
