A vaulted cellar venue for meetings and celebrations
The Puistoniemi area, home to Kanava Resort, has a long history. Since the early 1900s, the area has been home to a significant ironwork, a guesthouse, a local post office and several residential buildings.
At Kanava Resort, we wanted to honour Puistoniemi’s rich heritage by preserving some of the area’s original buildings. One of them is Kanavan kellari.
Carefully restored, the old vaulted cellar combines the atmosphere of the past with modern comforts. Brought back to life through an extensive renovation, Kanavan kellari now offers a unique setting for meetings and celebrations surrounded by the picture-perfect nature of the Lake Saimaa region.
